The new Kia Syros 2025 and Skoda Kylaq share an identical length. However, the Syros is 22mm wider and 61mm taller than the Skoda Kylaq, which should result in a more spacious cabin. The new Syros also offers a larger boot capacity (465 litres) compared to the Kylaq’s 446 litres. In terms of comfort, the Syros also offers sliding and reclining 2nd row seats with a ventilated seat base, which are features missing in the Skoda Kylaq.

Both the Kia Syros and Skoda Kylaq are offered with 1.0L turbo petrol engine options. However, the Kia Syros’ turbo petrol engine produces more power than the Skoda SUV. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for the Syros, while the Kylaq offers a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The Syros also offers a 1.5-liter diesel engine option, which is not available in the Kylaq. The Kia Syros diesel is available with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter (TC) automatic transmission.

Kia Syros Vs Skoda Kylaq – Features & Technology Differences
The new Kia Syros stands out with its premium interior featuring dual 12.3-inch integrated screens, a 5-inch touch panel for climate control, and 64-color ambient lighting. In comparison, the Skoda Kylaq offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen and an 8-inch digital driver’s display.
Both SUVs offer a comprehensive suite of features, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a premium sound system, and a range of convenience features. However, the Syros edges ahead with features like ventilated rear seat base and a panoramic sunroof, which are not available in the Kylaq.
In terms of safety, both SUVs get 6 airbags, ESC, and ABS with EBD as standard. However, the Syros further enhances safety with a 360-degree camera, all-wheel disc brakes, and a comprehensive Level 2 ADAS suite. The Skoda Kylaq, on the other hand, does not get ADAS in any of its variants.
Kia are yet to reveal the variant-wise prices of the 2025 Syros SUV. However, we expect it to cost significantly more than the Skoda Kylaq, which is priced from Rs. 7.89 lakh to Rs. 13.35 lakh. In fact, we expect Kia to price the Syros above the Sonet, whose prices start from Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 15.77 lakh (ex-showroom).
